Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Funding Coming!

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is expected to open applications for the next round of Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding in April 2025. TAP funds support projects that improve safety, mobility, and connectivity for non-motorized users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, and those with disabilities. Eligible projects may include the construction of sidewalks, multi-use trails, safe routes to school infrastructure, and other enhancements that promote active transportation and improve community accessibility. Local governments, regional transportation authorities, and other eligible organizations are encouraged to prepare now by identifying priority projects and gathering necessary documentation. MoDOT's TAP funding is highly competitive, so early planning and strong community engagement will be key to a successful application.

Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Implementation Funding Now Open!
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has announced that applications for Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Implementation Grants are now open, with a submission deadline of June 2025. SS4A implementation funding supports projects that help communities execute safety action plans aimed at reducing roadway fatalities and serious injuries. Eligible projects may include infrastructure improvements, traffic calming measures, enhanced pedestrian and bicycle crossings, and other proven safety interventions. Communities with a completed safety action plan, such as a Vision Zero plan or a comprehensive safety action plan, are encouraged to apply. These funds provide a critical opportunity for local governments and planning organizations to advance projects that align with a Safe System Approach, emphasizing equity and community involvement.
