ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING
leave a Legacy
What is it?
Environmental planning addresses the environmental issues within our local communities and evaluates the possible effects of future growth and development on air quality, water quality, and other natural resources. Impacts to the environment affect us all and it is critical to keep the health and safety of our planet at the top of our priorities.
What do we do?
The Truman Council obtains and administers grant opportunities for a wide variety of environmental projects. We also offer environmental reviews, hazard mitigation plans, water testing, watershed planning, and other vital services.

Our Services

Environmental Reviews
Environmental reviews are required for many projects to ensure that the proposed project does not negatively impact the surrounding environment and that the property site itself will not have an adverse environmental or health effect on land users.
Water Testing
Our counties contain 3 major watersheds that supply local drinking water, water for agriculture and manufacturing, recreation areas, and provide habitats for plants and animals. The safety of these watersheds is required for the protection of the communities and residents that rely on them. Testing allows you to know what is in your water. Grant Application & Administration
There are many grants available that can assist in restoring a sustainable environment in your community, such as water cleanups or recycling programs in schools. Contact us with any ideas you may have for your community.
