Pending Award

LWCF - Neosho Scenic Park

The City of Neosho has a Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant application pending to enhance Scenic Park with ADA-accessible sidewalks, restrooms, a paved parking lot, and a covered pavilion. These upgrades aim to create a more inclusive and welcoming space for all visitors.

RTP Trails Grant- Saginaw Park

The Village of Saginaw has a pending Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant application to enhance Saginaw Park by adding a new trail, providing a safe and scenic walking route for visitors. The project also includes improving an existing vehicle bridge to ensure safe pedestrian crossing and constructing a walking bridge over the creek, further enhancing accessibility and connectivity within the park.

Assistance to Firefighters Grant- Anderson Fire Department

​The Anderson Fire Department has applied for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) through FEMA to secure funding for essential equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and training. This grant will enhance the department’s operational capabilities, improve firefighter safety, and ensure they are better prepared to protect the community.

Digital Equity Initiative: Bridging the Digital Divide in Southwest Missouri

The Harry S Truman Coordinating Council (HSTCC) is tackling digital inequities in Barton, Jasper, Newton, and McDonald counties through its Digital Equity Initiative. The project will distribute 300 devices, provide 240 mobile hotspots, and host 20 digital literacy workshops by 2026. Partnering with local libraries, HSTCC aims to equip residents with the tools and skills needed to succeed in a digital world, empowering communities in education, employment, and civic engagement.

City of Carterville Streets Project

Carterville has been awarded a grant from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to enhance their streets. This funding will enable them to make vital improvements that will benefit their community, ensuring safer and more accessible roadways for all residents.

Carterville COPS CHP

The City of Carterville, Missouri, received a COPS Hiring Program (CHP) Grant to hire one full-time police officer. This funding will enhance public safety, build trust between law enforcement and the community, and address issues like theft and abuse by increasing police presence and improving response times. The addition of this officer will help reduce victimization and allow for proactive crime prevention, fostering a safer environment for Carterville residents.

Historic Preservation Grants- Carver Birthplace Association

​The Carver Birthplace Association has contracted HSTCC to administer three grants for preserving and restoring the historic Neosho Colored School. These include funding from the African American Cultural Heritage Fund, the Pre-Construction Historic Preservation Fund, and the African American Civil Rights Preservation Grant. These grants will protect and restore this culturally significant site for future generations.
